Frederick is in Maryland, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Frederick is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Maryland's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I recently had to use the services of Stauffer Funeral Home for the unexpected death of my son. The funeral director was compassionate, helpful in helping us with decisions we had to make under these difficult circumstances. The staff at the viewing were understanding and supportive as we were there longer than expected. I can’t speak highly enough of Stauffer Funeral Home. Unfortunately I have dealt with other funeral homes in my life and they don’t compare.

On Thursday, July 9th, I called Stauffer and spoke with a staff member, Ashley Brown, to confirm the date of my husband’s cremation. She told me it would be the following day, but when I asked for the time, she said she did not know. Her voice sounded very dark and heavy. I visited the funeral home shortly after 12:00 PM on Friday, but she was absent. When I confirmed the cremation date with the manager, I discovered that my husband had already been cremated on Thursday. No one had contacted me; my husband had already been cremated and reduced to ashes. Learning this truth left me in deep shock and tears of sorrow. I could not be there to see him off for his final farewell, and my heart breaks thinking about how sad and lonely he must have been. I demand an explanation for why the cremation date was hidden from me, and I expect a sincere apology.

Very thankful for how they handled my mother’s funeral. They were absolutely amazing and every detail, every request they made it happen. I am very happy I went with them, they were very professional and they were on time today for my moms service and fulfilled all my wishes for my mom even down to the nails and they made her look beautiful. It was a great experience and they were so kind and responsive and worked with me and all my questions. I had a wonderful experience.

I've been to many of their services. They are exceptionally good at what they do, and are one of the best funeral homes in the area. I cannot think of another funeral home who shows the level of care, devotion, and commitment to their families in Maryland.

I recently experienced the unexpected loss of my mother, and I cannot thank Stauffer Funeral Home enough for the care and compassion they showed me during such a difficult time. With no funeral home in mind and feeling completely unprepared, they were referred to me by the police officer who arrived to handle my mom’s passing. From the moment the officer contacted them, Stauffer was there for me, taking care of every detail and providing constant communication. My mother was cremated this morning, and I had the opportunity to say goodbye one last time and even witness the cremation process. Every person I encountered at Stauffer was warm, professional, and comforting. I would like to give a special thanks to Kelly, who took care of me throughout the entire process. Her kindness, support, and empathy were truly remarkable, and I felt cared for every step of the way. Losing a loved one is never easy, and although I knew this day would eventually come, nothing could have prepared me for it. Stauffer Funeral Home made the process bearable, guiding me through each step with patience and understanding. I highly recommend their services to anyone facing the loss of a loved one. They tre

It’s everything you would expect and want out of a funeral home. My dad passed recently and they handled it professionally and with respect the entire time. They were accommodating and compassionate. It’s a bit pricey but I’m sure most funeral homes are. Anyways, thank you for all the help during such a difficult time.

What my family had to undergo with this funeral home was to say the least deplorable… my mother passed late April and she was brought to Stauffers due to word of mouth From others. I am in the Military and was overseas at the time of her passing and immediately they were demanding $1000 just to get the ball rolling, the compassion was not there at all! Didn’t even give me time to try and get home. Fast forward we ended up having her moved to a different funeral home. By the time I got home and able to actually put my mother to rest which was only a week later, her body was not in a good state to even view, so why did I have to pay 1200 to have her moved if her body was not even properly stored?? I will never recommend this dreadful and Pitiful funeral home to anyone.

Everyone at Stauffers has been absolutely amazing. Having been going through so many stages of grief upon my fathers passing, they have taken such amazing care of our family during this time. They have met every one of our needs without hesitation. We are very grateful for their patience and guidance throughout this process. Beautiful building, beautiful rooms, it’s a very welcoming environment despite the circumstances. Thank you Kelly and everyone for all of your help.
